Elon Musk and many know that DEI must die. It is Marxism realized and thrust upon a free people to subjugate as well as divide. It is the Democrat way…
The fervent calls for social justice in the aftermath of George Floyd’s death in 2020 triggered a surge in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives across the United States. However, as we find ourselves three years later, these programs appear to be facing challenges, with significant cutbacks in corporations, high-profile court setbacks, and outright bans in certain academic domains.
‘Elon Musk said this year that DEI (diversity, equity inclusion) must die. He may get his wish. DEI related job postings declined 44% this year compared to 2022.’- John Ruddick MLC
According to data from job site Indeed, there has been a noteworthy 44% decline in DEI-related job postings in 2023. In the last full month for which data is available, November 2023, DEI job postings dropped by 23% compared to the previous year.
Two primary factors contribute to the diminishing prominence of DEI initiatives within companies. First, a shift in priorities amid layoffs has led to a reduction in these programs. Second, the looming threat of discrimination lawsuits has made companies reconsider the scope and implementation of their DEI efforts.

Numerous tech companies, having experienced workforce reductions this year due to over-hiring during the COVID-19 pandemic, have disproportionately cut DEI jobs, as suggested by 2022 research findings. Despite earlier commitments following the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests, tech giants like Google and Meta reportedly slashed their DEI programs in 2023. Devika Brij, CEO of Brij the Gap Consulting, which collaborates with tech companies on DEI efforts, revealed that some companies had reduced their DEI budgets by nearly 90% by mid-2023.

Moreover, several corporations revised their internal diversity policies aimed at enhancing racial and ethnic representation due to threats of lawsuits from conservative groups. A Reuters review of corporate statements indicated that at least six major U.S. companies, including JPMorgan Chase, made alterations to their diversity policies following public shareholder letters claiming that their DEI programs constituted illegal discrimination and breached directors’ duties to investors.

Prominent figures have also joined the chorus against DEI initiatives, contributing to a broader backlash. Tech magnate Elon Musk, Bari Weiss, founder of The Free Press, and billionaire hedge fund manager Bill Ackman have all advocated for the abolition of DEI. Ackman, a Harvard alum, recently called for a return to merit-based hiring, insinuating that Harvard President Claudine Gay’s appointment was influenced by the university’s DEI policies. Harvard’s DEI initiatives suffered a setback when the U.S. Supreme Court ruled its use of affirmative action in admissions unconstitutional over the summer. This ruling is expected to inspire more challenges to DEI practices in employment.
Beyond the courtroom, DEI has faced restrictions in other academic domains. Republican governors Ron DeSantis of Florida and Kevin Stitt of Oklahoma banned DEI in state colleges and universities this year.
DEI programs and quotas in corporate America are used to illegally discriminate against Americans based on race and sex.

Looking ahead to 2024, those advocating for the demise of DEI sense momentum building against what critics perceive as reverse discrimination. Will Hild, executive director of Consumers First, expressed his views, stating, “DEI exists to be a jobs program for otherwise unemployable mediocrities who ruin everything they touch. Everyone should cheer as they crash and burn.”
As DEI initiatives navigate a complex landscape marked by corporate cutbacks, legal challenges, and vocal opposition, the future trajectory of these programs remains uncertain.
