Failed Governor Newsom Has Hopes Of Being President, with The Blessing Of the Deep State
As the year draws to a close, California Governor Gavin Newsom reflected on the state’s achievements over the past 12 months, heralding it as a period of progress and outstanding leadership. In a press release on December 28, Governor Newsom outlined the state’s accomplishments, emphasizing California’s commitment to addressing various challenges and making a positive impact on people’s lives.
The United States Department of Housing and Urban Development estimated that more than 181,399 people were homeless in California in January 2023. 2.5 times more than the next highest state New York. California’s rate of homelessness is only second to DC- Paul A. Szypula
In his statement, Governor Newsom asserted, “From addressing global issues to finding community-based solutions, California has taken critical action to enhance the well-being, safety, health, and happiness of its residents this year. While the nation recovers and grows under the Biden-Harris Administration, California stands at the forefront in 2023, prioritizing people, safeguarding freedoms, and fostering economic opportunity.”
Governor Newsom spotlighted 37 key issues, spanning mental health, public safety, and infrastructure, among others, illustrating the state’s comprehensive efforts to tackle issues affecting communities.
Two Democrats that won 2023 in my opinion were @RepJeffries and @GavinNewsom … Jeffries has done an amazing job taking the baton from @SpeakerPelosi and Newsom has emerged as the most visible Democrat on the national stage outside of the President/VP. @newsnationam pic.twitter.com/HywOh7BwKM

The governor highlighted California’s bold initiatives in 2023, ranging from confronting major oil companies to addressing critical challenges like mental health care and housing. Notably, Governor Newsom filed a lawsuit seeking billions of dollars in damages against 100 oil companies, alleging their products caused air, land, and water contamination. Additionally, he implemented new price-gouging regulations in the industry to ensure affordable prices at the pump.
California has a $32 billion deficit this year. Gavin Newsom doesn’t know how to manage anything – he’s pure politics all the time. The people of California need to stop voting for weak politicians who don’t understand budgets and prioritization. – Richard Grenell
A video accompanying the press release provided a month-by-month overview of the past year, covering events such as atmospheric rivers leading to numerous rescues in January and efforts to combat retail theft and fentanyl interdiction in December.
Amidst a surge in overdose deaths in San Francisco and widespread drug abuse across the state, Governor Newsom unveiled a comprehensive “master plan” in March to address addiction. He also mobilized the California National Guard and Highway Patrol to dismantle drug trafficking networks.

To counteract smash-and-grab robberies and shoplifting, retail theft task forces were deployed in the Bay Area and Southern California earlier in the year, resulting in the recovery of over $30 million in stolen goods in recent years, as per the governor’s video.
Despite Governor Newsom’s optimistic retrospective, critics argue that some key issues were overlooked. Republican Congressional candidate David Giglio pointed to the omission of the state’s $68 billion budget deficit, likening it to Orwellian censorship as described in George Orwell’s “1984.”
Critics also highlighted the persistently high level of homelessness in California, constituting about one-third of the national homeless population and increasing by approximately 6 percent over the past year, according to recent Census Bureau statistics.

Acknowledging the urgency of addressing substance abuse and homelessness, the Legislature introduced a package of mental health bills signed by the governor. This legislative effort, known as Proposition 1, is slated for the March 2024 primary ballot. If approved, it would create a $6.38 billion bond to fund treatment facilities and behavioral health beds.
Governor Newsom’s wife emphasized women’s issues, education, and childhood opportunities in the retrospective, advocating for “reproductive freedom,” addressing the gender pay gap, and enhancing access to school meals and mental health services for children. She expressed the vision of creating a state where all women, children, and families can thrive.
