    Founded in 2012 by Charlie Kirk and Bill Montgomery, Turning Point USA is a non-profit organization championing conservative politics across high school, college, and university campuses. Ms. Patrick’s Instagram posts featured images of her and her sister at the conference, donning hats supporting former President Donald Trump, snapshots of Charlie Kirk engaged in discussion, Tucker Carlson speaking at the podium, and an advertisement for “Woke Tears Water.”

    The accompanying caption read, “Sister came to town to check out @turningpointusa with me! Dad replied to our pic with – perfect daughters. We do love our country….so AMfest (America fest) makes sense.”

    The backlash was swift, with comments expressing disappointment, such as “I had no idea you were like that. That’s disappointing,” and “Unfollowing you now.” Some fans expressed regret, stating, “Lost my support. I kinda liked you ’til now, what a joke.” Others were taken aback, with one saying, “Oh wow, this is super disappointing.     In contrast, Turning Point USA acknowledged the presence of Ms. Patrick and her sister at the conference, while some noted that negative comments from liberals were expected. Charlie Kirk himself responded with three applause emojis.

    Initially, Ms. Patrick did not directly address the criticism and continued to share content related to her family, Christmas celebrations, and a video of Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy discussing the challenges faced by states working to remove President Trump from the ballot.

    However, she later addressed the controversy in an Instagram story, responding to the negative comments. She clarified her political stance, stating that she is not a liberal and positions herself somewhere between Republican and independent. Ms. Patrick asserted her belief that the United States is facing challenges and emphasized the importance of having leaders with business acumen and integrity.

    “I think our country should be run by someone that knows business and has integrity. I believe we should be able to speak freely. I don’t think our food and skies should be poisoned. I think it’s bulls*** that Democrats can be proud but a Republican can’t in society,” she wrote.

I have been doing the [latter]. The reaction today is definitely interesting … since all I said was, I love this country.”
