    House Speaker Mike Johnson Leads GOP Delegation to Eagle Pass, Texas, Spotlighting Escalating Border Crisis and Urging Executive Action

    At this point we all know what theater is and what is real. Mike Johnson is proving himself to be fake over and over. 

    House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) is spearheading a delegation of 60 Republican lawmakers to Eagle Pass, Texas, on January 3, drawing attention to the escalating illegal immigration crisis that is overwhelming the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) service. The surge has resulted in the influx of up to 12,000 individuals daily entering the United States unlawfully, impacting both border communities and major cities.

    Mike, with all due respect, its simple… Call the House back to order and tell everyone that either the border bill passes and is signed by the President or we are shutting down-Gunther Eagleman

    The visit coincides with ongoing negotiations between the House and Senate regarding the approval of a $106 billion supplemental request from President Joe Biden. This request includes allocations of $45 billion for Ukraine and $14 billion for Israel.

    In December, Mr. Johnson conveyed to the Senate that House Republicans would withhold approval for additional military aid to Ukraine until the provisions of H.R. 2, the Secure the Border Act, passed by the House nearly a year ago, were approved by the Senate.

    On December 21, Mr. Johnson addressed a letter to President Biden, urging immediate executive action to tackle the border crisis. In the letter, he emphasized the dire consequences of the open border, causing human tragedy for migrants and citizens alike. Mr. Johnson highlighted the devastation faced by local communities, the illegal entry of terrorists and dangerous criminals, and the heightened vulnerability to a terrorist attack on U.S. soil.

    Speaker Johnson at Southern Border: “America is at a breaking point with record levels of illegal immigration…the situation here and across the country is truly unconscionable. We would describe it as both heartbreaking and infuriating…”

    Calling for urgent measures, Mr. Johnson specifically recommended an end to the “catch-and-release” policy, deportation or detention of those crossing the border illegally, reinstating the Remain in Mexico policy from the Trump administration, and resuming construction of the border wall.

    A week later, Mr. Johnson responded to discussions between Secretaries Alejandro Mayorkas and Antony Blinken and Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador regarding amnesty for illegal immigrants. He emphasized the need for U.S. policies that discourage, rather than attract, illegal immigration and condemned the administration’s lack of intention to address the humanitarian disaster and immediate national security crisis caused by its policies.

    Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reported a record of approximately 302,000 encounters with illegal immigrants in December alone, surpassing the population of Newark, N.J. In November, CBP reports indicated that 12,000 unaccompanied minors entered the country illegally.

    Eagle Pass, situated within the Del Rio sector of the U.S. border, encompasses a 245-mile stretch along the Rio Grande River and Lake Amistad. The surrounding region primarily consists of farm and ranch land, with over 71,000 immigrant contacts reported in the sector for December.

    As House Speaker Mike Johnson and the GOP delegation visit Eagle Pass, their focus is on shedding light on the critical situation at the border and advocating for effective policies to address the humanitarian and national security challenges posed by the current crisis. Unfortunately, we all see through the act. Johnson is all talk and no action. Put into position by the Deep State to placate MAGA, while stabbing America in the back.

They changed the topic. They said they aren’t there to talk about that yet.”
