Republicans are now all getting behind Trump, even those who0 have not been too friendly towards his efforts to become the POTUS again.
A Republican Senate faction has entered the fray, supporting former President Trump’s bid to overturn the Colorado Supreme Court’s decision to remove his name from the state’s primary ballot. Led by Sen. Steve Daines, R-Mont., the National Republican Senatorial Committee contends that the court exceeded its authority in a December ruling, a sentiment Trump himself has taken to the Supreme Court of the United States.
Interesting, the effort by Colorado to remove Trump from the ballot is “utterly lawless,” says Ted Cruz, except the grounds for removal are clearly stated in the 14th Amendment. Where did Ted Cruz go to law schoool? Oh… that’s right… Harvard. Well, that explains it-The New York Independent
In their court filing, the committee argued, “Even if the Colorado Supreme Court were correct that President Trump cannot take office on Inauguration Day, that court had no basis to hold that he cannot run for office.”
The Colorado Supreme Court’s 4-3 decision last month overturned a lower court ruling that permitted Trump to feature on the ballot as a presidential candidate. The justices in the majority argued that Trump had “incited and encouraged” violence to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power on January 6, 2021, when his supporters breached the U.S. Capitol.
I believe the Supreme Court will hear the Colorado case—and there is a chance they will rule unanimously against the state.

Trump’s legal team, in a recent filing, urged the Supreme Court to reverse the Colorado decision and “return the right to vote for their candidate of choice to the voters.” Their arguments echoed those of Justice Carlos Samour, a Democrat-appointed justice on the Colorado court who dissented, stating, “The decision to bar former President Donald J. Trump… from Colorado’s presidential primary ballot flies in the face of the due process doctrine.”

Samour further emphasized the importance of procedural due process, even in cases where a candidate is accused of engaging in insurrection, stating, “Even if we are convinced that a candidate committed horrible acts in the past… there must be procedural due process before we can declare that individual disqualified from holding public office.”
When the @GOP needed voices outspoken on the decisions of Colorado's Supreme Court & Maine's @shennabellows to take @realDonaldTrump off of the ballot, candidates like @RonDeSantis & @NikkiHaley failed.
Trump has won already.

Sen. Tom Cotton, R-Ark., has also thrown his support behind Trump, although Daines stands as the sole member of the GOP Senate leadership to endorse the former president.
The controversy centers on the Colorado Supreme Court’s assertion that Trump’s alleged role in the events of January 6 justifies his exclusion from the primary ballot. This argument not only challenges his candidacy but also raises questions about procedural fairness and due process, highlighting a partisan divide within the court itself. Today, a lawsuit citing Section 3 of the 14th Amendment was filed in Illinois to bar Trump from the ballot. He’s already been banned in Maine and Colorado. SCOTUS will surely have the final word, but here’s what you need to know about the underlying argument. – Robert Reich

The National Republican Senatorial Committee’s involvement amplifies the political significance of the issue, as it underscores the broader GOP stance on Trump’s eligibility. By contending that the Colorado Supreme Court overstepped its bounds, the committee aligns itself with those who argue that the court’s decision carries implications beyond the specific allegations against Trump.
The case also underscores the complexities of navigating legal challenges surrounding political figures and their eligibility for office. The balance between addressing alleged wrongdoing and upholding democratic processes becomes particularly delicate in cases involving high-profile individuals like Trump.

As the legal battle unfolds, the Supreme Court’s decision will not only impact Trump’s chances in Colorado but will also set a precedent for how allegations of past misconduct may influence future candidates’ eligibility. The broader implications could extend beyond this particular case, shaping the legal landscape for political contests in the years to come.
In the midst of this legal tussle, Trump’s resilience in maintaining support from key figures within the Republican Party, including Sen. Daines and Sen. Cotton, underscores the enduring influence he holds within GOP circles. The outcome of this case will undoubtedly reverberate within the political arena, influencing public perception and shaping the trajectory of Trump’s political future. Since Trump has not even been charged with insurrection, it would seem highly unlikely that the Supreme Court would ever decide against him. If they did, Republican states will surely join in and pronounce Biden an insurrectionist from his actions with the open border. There are a thousand times more evidence of Biden’s insurrection on the border, than on Trump with January 6.
Republicans have been advised to start banning Biden now, just in case. Sure, we can let the Supreme Court decide, but in the meantime a message needs to be sent to Biden and his handlers (Obama and the Deep State according to Trump). Will the Republicans actually do something, anything?

Major Points Discussed:
- The National Republican Senatorial Committee, led by Sen. Steve Daines, backs former President Trump’s effort to challenge the removal of his name from Colorado’s primary ballot.
- The committee argues that the Colorado Supreme Court exceeded its authority in the December ruling, asserting that even if Trump couldn’t assume office, he still has the right to run for office.
- The Colorado Supreme Court, in a 4-3 vote, cited Trump’s alleged role in inciting violence during the January 6, 2021 Capitol riot as grounds for removing his name from the ballot.
- Trump’s legal team and dissenting Justice Carlos Samour emphasize the importance of due process, arguing that procedural fairness must precede disqualification from public office, even in the face of serious allegations.
- While Sen. Tom Cotton endorses Trump’s cause, Sen. Daines stands as the only member of GOP Senate leadership to offer support, highlighting potential divisions within the party over the Colorado ballot dispute.
“We got to get out and vote — and send a very strong message to these far-left Democrats who are trying to dictate our election. Whether you live in Maine, Colorado, New Hampshire, Iowa… make your voice heard. We want President Trump back in the White House.”

- Robert F. Kennedy Jr Responds to Trump Being Taken Off the Ballot in Colorado & Maine “I’ve read the opinions. I don’t see how they can stand Supreme Court scrutiny…Donald Trump has not been convicted of leading an insurrection…I don’t think there’s due process in punishing him for a crime that he was never convicted of. It’s not the American way of doing things. And I think as a strategy that it actually hurts the Democratic Party because I think it discredits them. And it makes President Trump kind of into this mythological figure because people can see that this is not fair. So I want to beat President Trump, but I want to beat him fair and square in an election where everybody gets to vote for who they want to vote for.” – Chief Nerd – see clip below
