    The United States has not yet confirmed the reported death of Hamas leader Saleh Arouri, who has been a prime target with a $5 million bounty on the Rewards for Justice program. Arouri was killed in a strike on Beirut, but the U.S. was unaware of the operation, and there is no information to suggest Israeli involvement, according to State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller.

    Senior Hamas terror leader Saleh al-Arouri was killed in an explosion in Beirut tonight. This is a significant development. Israeli intelligence has been trying to kill al-Arouri for years and the United States has had a 5 million dollar bounty on him. Al-Arouri is a deputy political leader for Hamas and one of the founders of al-Qassam Brigades, the so-called military wing of Hamas. The United States has listed al-Arouri as a designated global terrorist since 2015. In 2014, al-Arouri was the Hamas leader who announced that three Israeli teenagers (including a dual US national) were kidnapped and killed in the West Bank.     During a Wednesday press briefing, Miller described Arouri as a “brutal terrorist with civilian blood on his hands.” However, he avoided commenting on whether Israel was justified in targeting Arouri, given the ongoing conflict between Israel and the terror organization. Miller highlighted that Hamas officials outside Gaza maintain regular communication with leaders across the region, refraining from speculating on the impact of Arouri’s death on future hostage negotiations.

    Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously threatened Arouri following a Hamas terrorist attack in October. The U.S. designated Arouri as a “specially designated global terrorist” and offered a $5 million reward for information leading to his capture. As of Thursday morning, the Rewards for Justice website had not been updated to reflect Arouri’s reported death.

    Miller also mentioned Hezbollah’s strikes from southern Lebanon into northern Israel, prompting the U.S. to issue stern warnings against an escalation of the conflict. The White House National Security Council emphasized that Arouri’s death remains unconfirmed, with no indication of Israeli involvement in the Beirut strike.

    John Kirby, a spokesperson for the White House National Security Council, stated that if Arouri’s death is confirmed, “nobody should be shedding a tear” over it. Richard Goldberg, a senior adviser at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, expressed the belief that killing Arouri would be a significant accomplishment for the United States.

    Goldberg commended targeted strikes as a means for Israel to restore deterrence in the region, suggesting that more of these actions could follow. He called for increased scrutiny of Hamas networks in the United States, advocating for efforts by the Justice Department and the Treasury Department to disrupt financing and political networks, similar to actions taken against the Holy Land Foundation two decades ago.

    The Rewards for Justice program, commonly used by the U.S. to target high-profile terrorism figures, has recently offered a $10 million reward for information on key financiers of Hamas. The lack of confirmation from both the U.S. and Israel is seen as an attempt to prevent further escalation, according to Jonathan Schanzer, senior vice president for research at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies.

If Israel was behind the strike, Schanzer argued that it would demonstrate a willingness to take greater risks to eliminate top Hamas leadership with global reach, residing in countries like Qatar and Turkey.

    To Sum It All Up: the U.S. is yet to confirm the death of Saleh Arouri, and the situation is marked by heightened tensions and uncertainties surrounding the broader implications for the ongoing conflict in the region. But since we are financially supporting both sides of the conflict, we do not expect much celebration from the Biden Administration.  We have paid Hamas over 100 million dollars recently, after their attack on Israel. We also fully fund the Palestinian Authority’s Martyr Program which pays a monthly stipend to the families of all who become martyrs by killing Jews or Americans. The streets of Judea, aka West Bank, are lined with photos of such heroes.  And America, under Democrat rule, supports them entirely. Bottom line i9s, we need Trump back to get respect on the global stage once again.  Sanity and peace two are needed, and as each day passes, Trump’s words to us all ring true. Biden and the Democrats have been a complete disaster not just for America, but for peace globally.

    • Israel is playing with fire by assassinating Hamas officials in Beirut. They are begging for escalation. But Hezbollah is a powerful adversary capable of doing great damage to Israel, I don’t think the Israelis understand that entirely. If Israel can’t defeat Qassam, which is operating under the harshest conditions from inside a besieged death camp, there is no way they can even begin to properly face the larger and more powerful Hezbollah without severe consequences.
