    Despite the lack of clarity in Biden’s rhetoric, the mainstream media and elements of his unwavering support base treat this language as gospel truth. To legitimize the term “irregular migration” as an accurate descriptor of the border crisis, three essential developments should have transpired since Biden assumed office: Significant transformations must have occurred in the countries from which people are emigrating. There should be a shift in migration patterns within North and South America, with destinations diversifying to include countries like Canada rather than being predominantly centered on the United States. No substantial changes should have been made to border security policies since the previous administration’s departure.
