Why did Austin hide his hospital episode from the Biden Admin?

Lloyd Austin hid his hospitalization for nearly a week. This man is the Defense Secretary, not some low-level paper pusher in some office somewhere. If one of our two National Command Authorities is in a hospital bed, Americans need to know immediately. He works for us. Now Biden’s people are claiming that they didn’t know for four days either. They’re saying he went in for an elective procedure on January 1, which I don’t believe because why would surgeons perform a surgery on New Years Day?
Then allegedly he had complications and just didn’t think to say a word to anyone for three days. It’s not just unprofessional, it’s a flagrant violation of 5 U.S.C. 3349 which clearly states: “The head of each Executive agency (including the Executive Office of the President, and other than the Government Accountability Office) shall submit to the Comptroller General of the United States and to each House of Congress – The head of each Executive agency (including the Executive Office of the President, and other than the Government Accountability Office) shall submit to the Comptroller General of the United States and to each House of Congress notification of a vacancy in an office and the date such vacancy occurred immediately upon the occurrence of the vacancy.” Three days later is NOT immediately. As usual, Biden and his band of merry idiots don’t care about breaking the laws. We are so far from the government our founders intended. – Joey Mannarino
In September, I used the Holman rule to FIRE Secretary Austin. He isn’t capable of leading the Department of Defense. And he just proved it again by keeping it a secret when he was very sick and in the ICU. – Marjorie Taylor Greene
Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin publicly acknowledged on Saturday night that he could have better communicated with the public regarding a recent medical procedure that led to his hospitalization. Addressing concerns about transparency raised by the media, Austin stated, “I recognize I could have done a better job ensuring the public was appropriately informed. I commit to doing better.” The 70-year-old secretary took full responsibility for the decisions surrounding the disclosure of his medical procedure.
This story about Austin being hospitalized and no one knew it – even his replacement – just keeps getting more and more bizarre. – Laurie
The statement came in response to a Politico report, citing two anonymous senior administration officials, which claimed there was a three-day delay in notifying the White House about Austin’s hospitalization. Senator Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) expressed concern over the reported delay, emphasizing the critical role of the Secretary of Defense as the key link in the chain of command and calling for accountability if the report was accurate.
BREAKING NEWS!! Lloyd Austin, the Secretary of Defense was hospitalized in a military hospital for days. Supposedly, no one in the White House, pentagon, etc. knew or was notified that he was.

Pentagon press secretary Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder confirmed on January 5 that Austin had been admitted to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center on the evening of January 1 due to complications following an elective medical procedure. Ryder assured that Austin was expected to resume his duties on January 5 and was recovering well. The deputy secretary of defense, Kathleen Hicks, was prepared to act in Austin’s absence if needed.

In standard practice, there is a 24-hour norm for reporting incapacitation of senior administration and military officials to the president and National Security Council. However, the timeline can vary based on the severity of the medical condition and the officials’ ability to make decisions, according to Brad Carson, a former under secretary and chief management officer of the Army, as reported by Politico.

President Joe Biden, leaving evening mass in Delaware on Saturday night, declined to comment on Austin’s hospitalization and recovery when questioned by a reporter. Austin expressed gratitude to the medical staff at Walter Reed and thanked colleagues and friends for their support, mentioning his anticipation of returning to the Pentagon soon.
Despite the acknowledgment of a delay in notifying the White House, Austin and his spokesperson, Ryder, did not disclose specific details about the medical procedure. Ryder explained to NBC News that the situation had been evolving, considering various factors, and emphasized Austin’s personal privacy.

The Pentagon Press Association criticized the delay in reporting, calling it an “outrage” in a letter to the heads of the Pentagon’s press office dated January 5. The association argued that the public has the right to know when cabinet members are hospitalized or duties are delegated due to medical procedures, even at the president’s level. They asserted that Secretary Austin, as the top defense leader, had no claim to privacy in this situation.

Austin’s hospitalization occurred during a period of heightened tensions for U.S. personnel, particularly in the Red Sea, amidst crises in the Middle East, the ongoing war in Ukraine, and the Chinese Communist Party’s aggression in the South China Sea. The timing of the incident has raised concerns about the potential impact on the Secretary of Defense’s ability to address pressing national security issues. Trust in the Biden Administration, by the public, is decreasing almost weekly now. As Trump said just yesterday in Iowa, ‘You would not trust him to run a candy store’.

- Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin is still hospitalized. – He has unanimously approved endless aid for foreign wars in Ukraine and Israel. – He has supported the US military to be forcefully vaccinated. Did you know before he was hospitalized over 200 service members demanded military leadership under Biden be court-martialed and fired for forced ‘experimentation’ on troops for the COVID-19 vaccine mandate, which left many with significant physical and mental scars. – Shadow of Ezra
