As MTG (Marjorie Taylor Greene) Said ‘Big Week In the House Committees’
Here’s the 19-page contempt of Congress report on Hunter Biden that the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees will be voting on this week: Document Cloud

NEW: House Republicans release a video compilation of the border crisis under the Biden administration, along with soundbites from DHS Secretary Mayorkas along the way. First official Mayorkas impeachment inquiry hearing is this week. Video ends with “accountability is coming.”
The Homeland GOP ‘s nearly year-long investigation into Secretary Mayorkas made one thing clear—he has refused to enforce the laws of Congress and fulfill his oath of office. This Committee will begin impeachment proceedings this Wednesday at 10am to hold Mayorkas accountable. (see clip below)

As the House lawmakers gear up for the commencement of their 2024 legislative session on Capitol Hill this Monday, the GOP majority has outlined key priorities for the first week, spanning two distinct impeachment probes and a pivotal appearance by renowned infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci.
Just get something done. Closing the border would be a good start- Old School Eddie
Dr. Fauci is slated for his inaugural session with the House select committee on COVID-19 during the 118th Congress. This closed-door interview, spanning both Monday and Tuesday, will entail a marathon of seven hours each day, allowing lawmakers from both sides to pose questions to the esteemed expert.
Fauci grilling by U.S. House Select Committee. Today was day 1 of the 2-day session. Will it be fruitful? Closed door sessions, with a public hearing add-on supposedly to be announced. Why not announce that now?
On January 10, the House Oversight Committee and the Homeland Security Committee are set to play pivotal roles in the GOP’s pursuit of accountability concerning the Biden administration. Oversight Chairman James Comer, representing Kentucky, announced that his committee would convene a procedural meeting to advance a contempt resolution against Hunter Biden, the President’s son, for his failure to comply with a congressional subpoena.

I agree with the Fox Hack that Hunter Biden can not legally refuse to appear in a private deposition. What he can do is invoke the 5th Amendment in a private deposition and say he will waive it in a public hearing. I still hope Biden adopts this posture. (see below – even though I would hardly call Turley a hack
Hunter Biden was subpoenaed for a sworn deposition on December 13 as part of an impeachment inquiry probing potential profiteering by the President and his family from foreign business deals. Instead of complying, Hunter opted for a press conference in front of the U.S. Capitol, criticizing the GOP’s impeachment inquiry into his father. Chairman Comer emphasized that Hunter Biden’s refusal to comply constitutes contempt of Congress and warrants prosecution, asserting that no special treatment would be accorded due to his last name.
Morning Patriots! Gonna be another wild week! On deck:

However, Rep. Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the committee, criticized Comer’s decision to hold Hunter in contempt. Raskin highlighted that Hunter had offered to testify in a public hearing, a proposal rejected by Republicans who insisted on a closed-door deposition first. Raskin lamented, “Instead of taking yes for an answer, Chairman Comer has now obstructed his own hapless investigation by denying Hunter Biden the opportunity to answer all the committee’s questions in front of the American people and the world.”
So understand the logic. Democrats only accept contempt if it is a Republican. But for Democrats, they expect, and often get preferential treatment. Why the Republicans always back down is a mystery. A Deep State mystery is my guess. When you routinely and illegally pry through a congressman’s every cell phone call and text and email for 15 years, you are bound to find something to help you set them up. If that doesn’t work, the Deep State always has their Epstein Islands.

Also, Simultaneously, on January 10, the Homeland Security Committee will conduct its initial hearing in the House Republicans’ impeachment proceedings against DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. The House had previously voted in November to refer a resolution for Mayorkas’s impeachment to the committee, entrusting them with the GOP’s mission to oust the Biden official.
To all have a look at Traitor Greene's exciting upcoming week.

Committee Chair Mark Green from Tennessee emphasized, “Our investigation made clear that this crisis finds its foundation in Secretary Mayorkas’ decision-making and refusal to enforce the laws passed by Congress, and that his failure to fulfill his oath of office demands accountability.” Green pointed to the bipartisan House vote in November, stating that it underscored the importance of initiating the impeachment process, a step the committee will begin next Wednesday.
Looking ahead, after the substantial legislative actions of this week, lawmakers face a tight deadline. The House and Senate must negotiate and reach a deal on government funding by January 19 to avert a potential partial government shutdown. The looming deadline adds pressure for bipartisan collaboration and timely decision-making to ensure the continued operation of the government. They also intend on doing all of this while still working under Deep State McCarthy’s rules, as his staff is in control even though Speaker Johnson has the gavel. Isn’t that special? The stench of DC is sickening.
Major Points Discussed:
- Dr. Anthony Fauci, an infectious disease expert, undergoes a seven-hour closed-door interview with the House select committee on COVID-19 during the first week of the 2024 legislative session.
- House Oversight Committee, led by Chairman James Comer, advances a contempt resolution against Hunter Biden for failing to comply with a congressional subpoena related to an impeachment inquiry into potential profiteering from foreign business deals.
- Democrats, led by Rep. Jamie Raskin, criticize the decision to hold Hunter Biden in contempt, highlighting that he had offered to testify in a public hearing. Republicans insisted on a closed-door deposition, hindering the investigation.
- Homeland Security Committee initiates the first hearing in House Republicans’ impeachment proceedings against DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas. The impeachment resolution was referred to the committee in November following a bipartisan House vote.
- Lawmakers face a crucial deadline of January 19 to negotiate and agree on government funding. Failure to reach a deal by this date could result in a partial government shutdown, adding urgency to bipartisan collaboration for timely decision-making.
