    In an interview with The New York Sun on January 11, Mr. Comer disclosed that the resolution would proceed to the House floor for a comprehensive vote if the Republican majority can muster enough members present. The Kentucky lawmaker emphasized that the necessary votes to hold President Joe Biden’s son in contempt of Congress are already secured, contingent upon the attendance of all members.

    Mr. Comer acknowledged the presence of a few members under the weather but assured that the votes required for contempt proceedings were in place. He also revealed that discussions among colleagues are ongoing regarding the course of action if U.S. Attorney Matthew Graves decides against prosecuting Hunter Biden.

    Attorney Graves, known for prosecuting cases related to the January 6 Capitol breach, has yet to confirm his stance on Hunter Biden. In response to potential non-prosecution, Rep. Comer stated, “We’ll cross that bridge when we get there, I mean he’s taken up two similar cases, so I would assume he’s going to do this. We’ll assume he’ll do his job.”  Continued below the vid

    The recent developments follow the Republican-led House Oversight and Judiciary Committees’ advancement of resolutions proposing criminal contempt of Congress for Hunter Biden’s refusal to testify in the impeachment inquiry into his father.

    House Republicans assert evidence indicating President Biden’s improper involvement in and benefit from his son’s overseas business dealings while serving as vice president. Both Hunter Biden and the White House have consistently denied any wrongdoing.

    As part of the inquiry, Republicans issued a subpoena for Hunter Biden to appear in a closed-door deposition on December 13. However, he declined, insisting on answering questions only in a public setting. On the scheduled deposition day, he addressed reporters outside the Capitol, vehemently denying his father’s involvement in his business dealings.

    Hunter Biden unexpectedly attended the hearing, remaining silent and briefly sitting with his attorney before leaving. Subsequently, his lawyer, Abbe Lowell, offered a brief statement to reporters, noting their willingness to cooperate with House committees. Lowell stated, “We have offered to work with the House committees to see what and how relevant information to any legitimate inquiry could be provided.”

    The criminal contempt resolution vote coincides with Hunter Biden’s ongoing legal battles. Recently, he pleaded not guilty to nine tax charges in federal court in California, accused of failing to pay over $1.4 million in federal taxes from 2016 through 2019. Additionally, he faces charges in Delaware for allegedly lying on a federal firearm purchase form during a period of illegal drug use.  Knowing we have a DOJ that is run by the Democrats, justice seems highly unlikely, at least until we get President Trump into office. Gone are the days where the DOJ at least tries to look impartial. We have seen them do all they can to help Hunter and his father. Next week, we shall see as they say.
