‘The New York Times is now warning that Trump’s plan to deport millions of Biden-era illegals is “inflationary” and dangerous because it will drive up the wages of native-born Americans. Democrats are terrified at the prospect of Americans earning a living wage, ‘ said Charlie Kirk
In the current political landscape, illegal immigration has emerged as a paramount concern among American voters, marking a significant shift in public opinion. According to a recent poll by Monmouth University, the majority of Americans now support the construction of a border wall along the U.S.–Mexico border, reflecting heightened apprehensions about the ongoing border crisis. This marks the first time in the survey’s history that such a majority has endorsed this measure.
Majority of Americans now favor the Construction of a Border Wall for first time ever in a Monmouth University poll 53 percent said they favor finishing construction on a border wall amid a spike in crossings, while 46 percent said they are opposed. The southern border remains a divisive issue for both major parties ahead of the November presidential election- Eagle Wings
The surge in illegal immigration during President Joe Biden’s term has contributed to the elevated level of public concern compared to the preceding two administrations. More than 60% of Americans perceive illegal immigration as a “very serious” problem, a substantial increase from 2015 and 2019 when similar polls indicated 43% and 49% holding that perspective, respectively. When factoring in those who view it as somewhat serious (23%), a staggering 84% of Americans express worry about the border crisis.
‘The best border policies of all are to *eliminate the incentives* to be here illegally in the first place. End federal funding for sanctuary cities. End birthright citizenship for the kids of illegals. Deport those who entered illegally. End all aid to Central America & require them to close their own borders to stop the northward flow of migrants. Restrict asylum grants. Use our military to secure our own border. That’s how we get the job done. Americans across the country are hungry for it, ‘ said Vivek Ramaswamy, Trump’s potential VP – see clip below

Patrick Murray, the director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute, highlighted the pivotal role of illegal immigration as a defining issue in this presidential election year. The estimated influx of over 10 million illegal immigrants since President Biden assumed office has further intensified these concerns.

The poll revealed that, for the first time since 2015, a majority (58%) of the public supports the construction of a border wall. This is a noteworthy shift from previous polls, where the highest percentage of support stood at 48% in 2015, contrasting with the lowest at 35% in 2017.
A significant finding is the stance of 61% of Americans advocating for immigrants seeking asylum at the border to wait in Mexico while their claims are processed. This echoes former President Donald Trump’s “Remain in Mexico” policy, credited by Republicans with reducing the influx of illegal immigrants during his tenure.
Former President Trump’s border wall project, comprising approximately 450 miles, faced criticism from President Biden, who expressed a commitment to halt any further construction upon assuming office. An internal Department of Homeland Security memo, however, indicated that physical barriers were deemed the most cost-effective method to deter illegal border crossings.
‘HR 2 has been sitting on Schumer’s desk for 292 days. Biden could’ve reversed his open borders exec actions any day over the past 3yrs. We’re overrun with MILLIONS of unvetted illegals & Americans are getting killed. Secure our border FIRST The time is NOW to put AMERICA FIRST’ said Congressman Byron Donalds, quoting on this next clip…

This is the enemy of this nation in control. The Democrats and their RINO supporters are a disease on the Republic. How dare these aliens think America comes last.
Despite the Biden administration’s dismissal of the border wall initiative, concerns about illegal immigration have risen across all voter groups, with Republicans expressing the highest level of concern (91%). A notable development is the increase in concern among independents, with 58% considering illegal immigration a very serious problem, up from just over 40% in 2015 and 2019.
In response to the federal discontinuation of border wall construction, Texas Governor Greg Abbott took a proactive stance by seeking state funding to build its own barrier. Texas officially initiated its state-funded border wall construction in December 2021, with Governor Abbott asserting that Texas was stepping in to address the federal government’s perceived failure to enforce immigration laws and secure the border.
South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem has also joined the efforts, deploying National Guard troops to assist Texas in border wall construction. Describing the border as a “warzone,” Governor Noem underscored the need for military involvement in addressing the escalating crisis.

In an unexpected turn of events, the Biden administration, which initially halted border wall construction, waived 26 federal laws in south Texas to allow for the completion of an additional 20 miles. President Biden cited the prior appropriation of funds and legal constraints as the rationale for this decision, despite expressing his belief in the ineffectiveness of the border wall.
As the debate surrounding illegal immigration and border security continues, these developments underscore the evolving dynamics and increasing concerns among the American public, potentially influencing the political landscape in the upcoming election year.
