Hunter Biden’s trial on federal gun charges has entered its fifth day in a Delaware courtroom. The trial has brought forward testimonies from several individuals, including Hunter’s former romantic partners, who discussed his struggles with drug addiction. Additionally, an FBI agent and the gun store clerk who sold Hunter a revolver in 2018 have taken the stand, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding the case.
Former Assistant District Attorney Phil Holloway shared his insights on the trial during a discussion on Friday. Holloway focused on the strategy employed by Biden’s defense team, suggesting that they are attempting to garner sympathy from the jury. Holloway pointed out that the testimonies presented by the prosecution have significantly impacted Hunter Biden’s defense.

“If the jury is paying attention to the presentation that the prosecutors are putting on, these witnesses have done a lot of damage to Hunter Biden,” Holloway remarked. “It’s evident that when he acquired that gun, he was both addicted to drugs and unlawfully using especially crack cocaine.”
Holloway further explained the defense’s strategy, emphasizing the presence of the First Lady and other members of the Biden family in the courtroom. This, according to Holloway, is intended to influence the jury by evoking sympathy. “They’re trying to evoke sympathy. This is in the Biden’s backyard. “There are bound to be people on that jury who care deeply about at least some of the Bidens,” he added. Holloway suggested that the defense might be aiming for jury nullification, a scenario where the jury, despite evidence of guilt, chooses to acquit the defendant out of sympathy or other reasons.

As the trial progressed, Hunter Biden’s defense team announced they would not be calling any more witnesses. However, they have until Monday to decide if Hunter himself will testify. One of the notable testimonies came from Hunter’s daughter, Naomi Biden, who expressed pride in her father’s efforts to rehabilitate himself in 2018. She stated that he never used drugs in her presence and described him as appearing “still seemed good” around the time he purchased the gun.
Earlier, the prosecution concluded its case by presenting evidence of Hunter’s crack cocaine addiction and testimonies from several women regarding his drug use. The charges against Hunter include the illegal purchase and possession of a firearm during drug abuse or addiction, charges to which he has pleaded not guilty despite his public admissions of a longstanding struggle with addiction.
This trial is historic, as it marks the first time a sitting U.S. president’s child has faced trial. President Joe Biden has publicly stated that he will not pardon his son if found guilty. In an interview, when asked by David Muir if he would rule out the possibility of pardoning Hunter, Joe Biden responded affirmatively, saying simply, “Yes.”

The courtroom proceedings have brought to light not only the legal aspects of the case but also the personal and familial dimensions. The presence of high-profile family members and the defense’s focus on Hunter’s rehabilitation efforts highlight the complex interplay of legal strategy and personal narratives. The outcome of this trial will not only impact Hunter Biden’s future but also carry significant implications given the high-profile nature of the case. President Biden stated he will not pardon his son. Republicans say this is a lie and to begin with Hunter will not face any real time thanks to the corruption of the Deep State. Only Republicans get actual jail time with our new Soviet-like regime in control.
