Mess with the bull and you get the horns as they say.
Four individuals were hospitalized following a startling incident at an Oregon rodeo, where a bull named Party Bus escaped the arena and charged at spectators. This disruption occurred at the Sisters Rodeo in the city of Sisters, approximately 22 miles north of Bend, right before the last scheduled ride of the evening.
The incident unfolded when Party Bus leapt over an arena barrier and rampaged through the rodeo grounds before rodeo staff and livestock professionals managed to corral him by the back livestock pens. The arena announcer immediately called for an emergency medical response as the chaos ensued.

The Sisters Rodeo Association issued a statement describing the events: “A rodeo bucking bull jumped a fence and ran through the rodeo grounds before being secured by our rodeo pickup men and arena staff by the back livestock pens.” The Association later expressed relief that the injured parties had been released from the hospital, emphasizing their gratitude for the swift actions of the on-site personnel.
Deschutes County Sheriff’s Office reported that three of the injured were transported to local hospitals by ambulance, and one via a sheriff’s cruiser. Lt. Jayson Janes noted that the injuries ranged from minor to more severe, with some possibly occurring as spectators attempted to escape the charging bull. Sheriff’s deputies and private security at the event quickly contained the situation, with Lt. Janes commenting on the rapid containment of the bull.

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association praised the quick actions of the arena’s pickup men who played a crucial role in managing the situation. They highlighted the professionalism of both the rodeo staff and local first responders in preventing a potentially worse outcome.
This incident marked a rare occurrence for the Sisters Rodeo, which has been a staple since 1940 without such breaches. Party Bus, the bull involved, had competed earlier in the week at the Sisters Rodeo Xtreme Bull Riding event, tying for third place in the initial round.
Organizers confirmed that despite the incident, the rodeo continued with its scheduled events the following day. They also reassured that Party Bus was examined by veterinarians and found to be unharmed. The event, which was fully booked, drew hundreds of spectators, underscoring its popularity within the community.
