Finally, a win for Disney via Pixar. Their one division still not tainted by the Woke ideology destroying the company, in the eyes of the people.
“Inside Out 2” has shattered box office records over its opening weekend, heralding a robust start to the summer blockbuster season and delivering a significant boost to Disney. The film, a sequel to the 2015 hit “Inside Out,” garnered a staggering $155 million domestically and $295 million globally, making it the largest opening for an animated film ever, when adjusted for current exchange rates and comparable markets.

This monumental debut has surpassed “The Super Mario Bros Movie” and stands as the biggest worldwide opening weekend of the year. Particularly notable was the film’s reception in Latin America, where it raked in $61 million, indicating a strong international appeal.
Disney revealed that the only Pixar release to have outperformed “Inside Out 2” in the US during its opening weekend was “The Incredibles 2,” which premiered in 2018. The original “Inside Out” film had a successful run in the summer of 2015, earning $90 million domestically during its opening weekend and accumulating a total of $858 million globally.

Shawn Robbins, a film and theatrical consultant, enthusiastically noted on social media that “Disney and Pixar are back, and so is the summer box office.” This comment came shortly after Disney announced that “Inside Out 2” had brought in $13 million from domestic previews alone. Following this news, Disney shares saw a 1% increase to about $101 in premarket trading.
The success of “Inside Out 2” arrives at a critical time for the film industry, which has faced significant challenges in drawing audiences to theaters amid the rising popularity of streaming services. The performance of Universal’s “The Fall Guy,” which was expected to be a major contender this summer, fell short of expectations when it premiered last month. Additionally, last year’s Hollywood strikes have created further complications, disrupting release schedules across various studios.
