Racism over and over, at least that’s the charge. But knowing that the people in charge of Woke corporations are all too willing to destroy their own organizations, you can have lawsuits that never end until management changes.
In response to recent incidents of alleged racial discrimination, American Airlines CEO Robert Isom has announced immediate actions to “rebuild trust” within the company. In a letter to employees, Isom addressed an incident from January where eight Black male passengers were removed and later reboarded on an American Airlines flight. He described the event as “unacceptable” and contrary to the airline’s values.
“I am deeply disappointed by the events on that flight and the implosion of our procedures,” Isom stated in a letter. “We fell short of our pledges and failed our customers in this event.”

Last month, three Black men filed a federal lawsuit against American Airlines, alleging “blatant and egregious racial discrimination” after being removed from a Jan. 5 flight from Phoenix to New York’s JFK International Airport. The plaintiffs, Alvin Jackson, Emmanuel Jean Joseph, and Xavier Veal, claim they and five other Black male passengers were removed without any valid reason, solely based on their race. The eight men did not know each other and were not seated together.
Isom’s letter outlined steps the airline will take to enhance diversity and inclusion, including:
Creating an advisory group to improve the travel experience for Black customers.
Reviewing and improving the internal reporting process for discrimination or bias allegations.
Reevaluating policies, practices, protocols, and organizational culture to identify areas for growth.
Educating employees to recognize and address bias and discrimination.

Additionally, Isom mentioned his conversation with Derrick Johnson, president and CEO of the NAACP, regarding the civil rights organization’s concerns amidst the lawsuit. Isom thanked Johnson for his input and reiterated that discrimination of any kind is “unacceptable” and will not be tolerated at American Airlines.
In a statement, Johnson expressed his approval of American Airlines’ initial steps towards creating a more inclusive experience for all passengers. Johnson expressed the hope that other firms would take note of this approach and adopt a similar method. “While it is tragically common for Black customers to experience prejudice and prejudice at the hands of corporations, it is not usual to see such swift and decisive action,” Johnson said.
Despite repeated requests for comment on whether the employees involved in the incident would be terminated, American Airlines did not respond. Representatives for Jackson, Joseph, and Veal also did not provide comments.

American Airlines has faced concerns regarding racial discrimination for several years. In 2017, the NAACP issued an advisory warning Black travelers to be cautious when flying with the airline. This advisory was lifted in 2018 after the then-chairman, Doug Parker, asserted that the company does not and will not tolerate discrimination of any kind.
