I’m looking forward to seeing this movie, unlike most other sequels. Kevin is not a favorite of mine, by Eddie Murphy is, despite the recent news stories of him losing it on the woke side.
Kevin Bacon recently expressed his excitement about fulfilling a longtime aspiration by working with Eddie Murphy in the upcoming Netflix release, Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F. This film, the fourth installment in the Beverly Hills Cop series, marks the first collaboration between the two acclaimed actors. Bacon, known for his diverse roles in cinema, including his breakout in Footloose, never crossed paths with Murphy during the height of their careers in the 1980s. Despite being active in the same era, Bacon recalled never interacting significantly with Murphy at the time.

In Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Murphy reprises his role as Detective Axel Foley, who teams up with Detective Bobby Abbott, played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt, to tackle a new crime in California, involving Foley’s daughter portrayed by Taylour Paige. Bacon joins the cast as Captain Cade Grant, a leader within the Beverly Hills police force. Throughout the filming, Bacon was particularly struck by Murphy’s approach to acting, noting his relaxed and present demeanor. He admired how Murphy could improvise without overtly seeking laughs, yet still manage to be genuinely funny, often causing Bacon to nearly break character.
Bacon praised Murphy’s attentiveness to his co-stars during scenes, highlighting how Murphy would pick up on subtle cues and reflect them back in his performance, enhancing the dynamic interplay on set. This experience has clearly left a positive impression on Bacon, enriching his already extensive career with a fresh and memorable collaboration.
