I was once the greatest fan, quite fanatical too for all things Star Wars. But honestly since Disney too kover, the quality in my opinion is not what I want, and the woke nonsense they keep trying to put into shows is very off putting to me. With that said…
In the recent episode “Teach/Corrupt” of Star Wars: The Acolyte, the narrative deepens with the duel between Master Sol, played by Lee Jung-jae, and the mysterious dark side warrior, The Stranger, revealed as Qimir (Manny Jacinto). While Master Sol is the sole Jedi survivor, the episode also sees a dramatic twist with the twin sisters Mae and Osha (Amandla Stenberg), who find themselves under the influence of different masters, escalating the storyline.

Set roughly a century before the events of the Skywalker Saga, The Acolyte enriches the Star Wars timeline by exploring the lineage of Sith Lords, hinting at connections leading up to Darth Sidious’ era. The intrigue surrounding The Stranger, now known as Qimir, aligns with fan theories about the succession of Sith Lords, potentially linking back to Darth Tenebrous and Darth Plagueis, figures entrenched both in official canon and the expansive “Legends” universe. You all remember the Emperor speaking about Darth Plageis?
Manny Jacinto. enough said.

Episode 6 of The Acolyte also introduces an “Unknown Planet,” reminiscent of Bal’demnic—an ocean planet from the “Legends,” known for its strategic cortosis resources. This element is crucial as cortosis has the ability to disrupt lightsaber function, a property exploited by Qimir in his cortosis-infused armor, as introduced by showrunner Leslye Headland from the “Legends” into the series’ canon.
The narrative of The Acolyte does more than expand the lore; it delves into the shadowy past of the Sith, shrouded in secrecy and deception. This backdrop of mystery sets the stage for potentially major revelations regarding the identities and legacies of ancient Sith Lords like Tenebrous and Plagueis. As the series progresses, it hints at a possible redefinition of these iconic villains within the Star Wars canon, suggesting that Qimir could be connected to these legendary figures either directly as Plagueis or indirectly as the apprentice or master in the Sith lineage.

As The Acolyte approaches its conclusion, the anticipation builds on whether the series will fully integrate elements of the “Legends” into the mainstream Star Wars canon, thus possibly rewriting the known history of the Sith and their secretive machinations. I am not happy overall with the series but will watch it all since I am still a fan of the saga.
