This man knows who will soon be back in the White House
In a move that’s raising eyebrows across the globe, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban abruptly left the NATO summit in Washington, D.C., to jet off to Florida for an impromptu meeting with former President Trump. This unexpected detour comes hot on the heels of Orban’s whirlwind diplomatic tour, where he’s been shaking hands with some of the world’s most controversial leaders.

The scoop, first dropped by The New York Times, left everyone guessing about the agenda of this sudden rendezvous. Orban, now at the helm of the European Union’s rotating presidency, has been busy flexing his new title, despite its largely ceremonial power. His globe-trotting included high-stakes talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Chinese President Xi Jinping, all before touching down in the Sunshine State.
Orban’s presence at the NATO summit, which marked the 75th anniversary of the alliance, was initially intended to address the ongoing chaos wrought by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and to ponder the future of the EU. But Orban had other plans. His admiration for Trump is no secret; he’s even riffed on Trump’s slogans, declaring Hungary would “make Europe great again.” The pair previously huddled at Mar-a-Lago back in March, in a bid to align on foreign policy strategies.

This latest move, however, has not sat well with Orban’s European counterparts. His frenetic diplomatic dash has sparked considerable unease within the EU from the globalist loving nations. A slew of member states have already downgraded their involvement in informal council meetings set to be held in Hungary during its presidency. Critics argue that Hungary should never have been allowed to take on the presidency role in the first place, fearing Orban’s antics would undermine the bloc’s unity. They are globalists and do not like the idea of Orban not being for the destruction of Europe with mass migration.
Orban’s recent powwow with Putin particularly rattled the EU’s cage. The bloc’s Foreign Policy Chief, Josep Borrell, hastily distanced the EU from Orban’s solo diplomatic missions, stressing that Orban was not representing the EU in any official capacity. Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo blasted the visit as “disturbing,” accusing Orban of shirking his EU presidential duties and undermining the bloc’s interests. Lithuanian Foreign Minister Gabrielius Landsbergis piled on, asserting that Orban’s actions were self-serving and did not reflect the positions of either NATO or the EU.
