I’ve been a comic book fan for many decades. Recently they have gone woke and started to destroy the franchise. I only hope this isn’t yet another movie that many will avoid once the word gets out. Please Marvel, no more BS!
The debut trailer for “Captain America: Brave New World” has generated a buzz with a tantalizing glimpse of Red Hulk, heralding a significant addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The trailer, rich with action and drama, features familiar faces and new threats, setting the stage for an epic showdown.
Anthony Mackie returns as Sam Wilson, the new Captain America, with Danny Ramirez reprising his role as Joaquin Torres, now the Falcon. Carl Lumbly appears as Isaiah Bradley, and Tim Blake Nelson is back as Samuel Sterns, also known as the Leader. The trailer also introduces Harrison Ford as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, a character that takes on a pivotal role in the unfolding story.
The narrative kicks off with President Thaddeus Ross presenting Sam Wilson with a controversial proposal: to make Captain America an official tool of the U.S. military. This proposition clearly doesn’t sit well with Sam, who faces pressure and influence from various sides, including the sinister Leader. Isaiah Bradley, who made his first appearance in the Disney+ series “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier,” is shown making an attempt on Ross’s life, adding further tension to the plot.
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is what I often hail as my favorite comic book movie of all time. That said, this trailer for Brave New World did absolutely nothing for me. Idk if it’s lingering MCU fatigue, disappointment in F+WS, the Disney+ look of it…but I’m not sold. pic.twitter.com/DTFLQUCW5w

Action sequences abound, showcasing Sam’s new flight abilities. In a heated exchange, Ross pointedly tells Sam he is not Steve Rogers, to which Sam concurs, acknowledging the weight of his predecessor’s legacy while forging his own path. The climax of the trailer features a dramatic reveal: Red Hulk catches Captain America’s iconic shield and slams it into the ground, hinting at a formidable confrontation between Sam and this monstrous adversary.
Speculation had been rife about Harrison Ford’s character transforming into Red Hulk, a very large and CGI-intensive role. The trailer confirms these rumors, suggesting that “Captain America: Brave New World” might draw from Hulk comic storylines from 2008 to 2010, where Red Hulk played a prominent role. Some fans even speculate that this film might secretly pivot towards a Hulk-centric narrative, potentially marking Mark Ruffalo’s final appearance in the MCU.

Adding to the excitement, the trailer confirms Giancarlo Esposito’s involvement in the film. Known for his roles in “Breaking Bad,” “Star Wars,” and “The Boys,” Esposito was reported in May to be joining the MCU as a new villain. This news followed rumors of the film undergoing reshoots to incorporate Esposito’s character. While Esposito had expressed interest in playing Professor Xavier of the X-Men, his new role in the MCU is described as even more intriguing, with the actor hinting that his character will eventually get their own TV series.
Marvel also released the first poster for “Captain America: Brave New World,” which is set to hit theaters on February 14, 2025. The anticipation for this film is building, with fans eager to see how these new elements will reshape the MCU landscape.
