Catherine, the Princess of Wales, is set to make a rare public appearance after her cancer diagnosis, attending the Wimbledon men’s final on Sunday, Kensington Palace confirmed.
Kate, wife of heir to the throne Prince William, will take her place in the Royal Box on Centre Court to witness defending champion Carlos Alcaraz face off against tennis legend Novak Djokovic. She is also scheduled to present the coveted winner’s trophy.

However, the 42-year-old royal will not be attending Saturday’s women’s final between Jasmine Paolini and Barbora Krejcikova. Instead, Deborah Jevans, chair of the All England Club, will step in to present the winner’s trophy.
Since becoming the patron of the All England Club in 2016, Kate’s role has included the prestigious duty of awarding trophies after each men’s and women’s singles final. Yet, her public appearances have been scarce since she announced her cancer diagnosis in March, with her last outing being King Charles III’s birthday parade last month.

In a heartfelt statement released before that event, Kate shared she was “making good progress” but still faced “good days and bad days” amidst her treatment. She expressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support and kind messages, noting that they had been a significant source of strength for her and William during tough times.
