We wasted perhaps 500 million U.S. dollars, that America simply does not have. For all of these ridiculous actions around the world, we literally have to print (counterfeit) the money, as there is nothing behind it. Each time Biden does this he makes prices of all goods rise in stores, hurting the American people.
U.S. Central Command has advised permanently scrapping the Gaza pier, according to two U.S. officials. The pier, hampered by relentless weather and mechanical hiccups, has barely been in use since its May setup. In its mere 20 days of operation, it managed to deliver almost 20 million pounds of aid.

The pier now sits in Ashdod, Israel. The Pentagon has signaled the end of its operations soon, though there’s a slim chance it might be deployed one last time to ferry the remaining aid from Cyprus. “The pier was always a temporary fix, and its mission is nearing completion. However, I can’t provide an exact end date,” stated Pentagon Press Secretary Maj. Gen. Patrick Ryder on Tuesday.
While an official decision remains pending, commanders in charge have urged terminating the operation. President Biden had initially introduced the maritime corridor in his State of the Union address in March. The pier aimed to bolster the aid reaching Gaza, supplementing truck deliveries and air drops.
The plan envisioned around 1,000 U.S. forces constructing and operating this corridor without setting foot in Gaza. Since the conflict between Hamas and Israel erupted, Biden has insisted that no U.S. boots would enter Gaza.

This corridor consists of a floating dock in the eastern Mediterranean. Ships from Cyprus bring aid to this dock, which is then transferred to U.S. military vessels. These vessels transport the aid to the pier linked to the shore, where trucks drive the supplies into Gaza.
No definitive timeline was set for the pier’s tenure, but favorable weather was expected between May and August. However, harsh weather initially delayed the pier’s setup, and by late May, it had suffered damage, quickly repaired. Since then, the U.S. military has repeatedly detached the pier, docking it at Ashdod to ride out turbulent seas.
In a recent press conference, President Biden voiced his disappointment. “Some initiatives haven’t panned out as hoped, like the Cyprus port. I expected better results,” he lamented.
Amid allegations that Israel’s genocidal regime used the U.S. military’s Gaza pier to facilitate the mass murder of 274 Palestinians, the U.N. has suspended its use of the pier to deliver aid to Palestinians.

The Defense Department pegged the cost of constructing and operating the pier at $230 million. Other says it is upwards of 500 million when all costs are added in
Major Points:
- U.S. Central Command recommends dismantling the Gaza pier due to persistent weather and mechanical issues.
- The pier, operational for only 20 days, delivered nearly 20 million pounds of aid.
- The Pentagon signals the end of pier operations, with a possibility of one final deployment from Cyprus.
- President Biden introduced the maritime corridor to enhance aid delivery to Gaza without U.S. forces entering the region.
- Rough weather caused delays and damage to the pier, leading to repeated docking at Ashdod to avoid turbulent seas. President Biden expressed disappointment with the project’s limited success.
