Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascón made it clear: “Reckless behavior that damages property shows a blatant and unacceptable disregard for the safety and peace of our community. Our office will work to ensure the responsible individual is held accountable.”
Following his arrest, Garcia was hospitalized due to a medical issue. The boxer, known for his 24-1-1 record with 20 knockouts, took to social media the next morning, comparing himself to pop star Britney Spears. “I feel like I’m Ryan Spears. Aka Britney Spears. This sucks 🙁 I never hurt anyone. I’ve only ever loved everyone, prayed for people, and tried to make a change in this cruel world. I love you Christ Jesus Amen,” he posted, expressing his distress and confusion.

The drama doesn’t end there. About a month after the hotel incident, Garcia was expelled from the World Boxing Council (WBC) for using racial slurs and making offensive comments about Muslims during a livestream. He later apologized on X, saying, “I was trolling. I want all the killing to stop. I love everyone, sorry if I offended you.”
Garcia’s boxing career has been a rollercoaster. He won the WBC interim lightweight title in January 2021 by defeating Luke Campbell in a thrilling seventh-round knockout. However, he lost the title after withdrawing from a defense match to focus on his mental health.
In February 2023, Garcia faced his first professional defeat, losing by TKO to Gervonta Davis. His most recent fight on April 20 against Devin Haney ended controversially, with the New York State Athletic Commission ruling it a no-contest after Garcia tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs.
