TerBlanche began her career as Miss Teen South Africa in 1991 and later starred as Beatrice “Bienkie” Naudé Hartman in Egoli: Place of Gold, South Africa’s first soap opera. She left the series in 1995.
In 1997, she joined All My Children as Gillian Andrassy, a role that saw her character eventually meet a tragic end. TerBlanche briefly returned to the show in 2011 for its series finale.
