A Missouri woman was arrested on Friday on suspicion of attempting to defraud the estate of Elvis Presley, aiming to steal ownership of the iconic Graceland property in Memphis. The arrest of Lisa Jeanine Findley, 53, of Kimberling City, Missouri, follows a lawsuit filed by Presley’s granddaughter, actress Danielle Riley Keough, who sought to block a foreclosure sale on the famous compound.

The case, which garnered national attention earlier this year, alleges that Findley orchestrated a fraudulent scheme to sell Graceland by falsely claiming that Elvis Presley’s daughter, Lisa Marie Presley, had pledged the historic landmark as collateral for a loan she supposedly failed to repay before her death.
Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General Nicole M. Argentieri stated, “As alleged in the complaint, the defendant created numerous false documents and sought to extort a settlement from the Presley family. Now she is facing federal charges.”
The complaint details that Findley posed as three different individuals to pass herself off as a nonexistent private lender company, Naussany Investments & Private Lending LLC. She allegedly claimed that Lisa Marie Presley had defaulted on a $3.8 million loan and sought to extort $2.85 million from the family. The scheme involved forging documents, including a fake deed of trust.
As the details of the fraud emerged, Findley reportedly wrote to the Presley family and the court, blaming the fraudulent activities on a supposed Nigerian identity thief.
Eric Chen, inspector in charge of the U.S. Postal Inspection Service Criminal Investigations Group, commented, “Ms. Findley allegedly took advantage of the very public and tragic occurrences in the Presley family as an opportunity to prey on the name and financial status of the heirs to the Graceland estate, attempting to steal what rightfully belongs to the Presley family for her personal gain.”
