Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has accused Russian forces of attacking vehicles belonging to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Ukraine’s eastern Donetsk region. According to Zelensky, the strike claimed the lives of three people, a tragedy confirmed by the ICRC, which stated that three of its staff members were killed and two others were injured in the attack.

The Ukrainian president shared an image of a Red Cross lorry engulfed in flames, calling the attack a clear demonstration of Russia’s continued aggression. “In this war, everything is absolutely clear — Russia sows evil, Ukraine defends life,” Zelensky wrote on X, urging the global community to take decisive action against Russia’s ongoing violence.
The ICRC, while not directly naming Russia in its statement, confirmed the attack occurred at a planned frontline aid distribution site in the Donetsk region. “Our hearts are broken today as we mourn the loss of our colleagues and care for the injured,” the organization said.
Zelensky called for a firm global response, insisting that nations and international bodies must not remain indifferent. “Only together can the world force Russia to stop this terror and make Moscow seek peace,” he added.
