The war in Gaza takes its toll on both sides. But the terrorists are now suffering far more. Here and there, Israeli troops are getting killed though…
On Tuesday, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported a tragic incident in the Gaza Strip, where four soldiers were killed and another seven wounded due to a booby-trapped building collapse during ongoing operations against Hamas. The incident occurred in the southern and central parts of the Palestinian enclave as Israeli forces continue their extensive military campaign.

The soldiers who lost their lives were identified as Major Tal Pshebilski Shaulov, 24, from Gedera; Staff Sergeant Eitan Karlsbrun, 20, from Modiin; Sergeant Almog Shalom, 19, from Hamadia; and Sergeant Yair Levin, 19, from Givat Harel. These deaths have brought the total number of Israeli military fatalities to 300 since the start of the ground offensive against Hamas in Gaza, including a police officer who was killed during a hostage rescue operation on the previous Saturday.

According to the IDF, the soldiers were part of the Givati Brigade’s reconnaissance unit. In a proactive measure to ensure safety, the troops deployed an explosive device inside a suspicious building in Rafah’s Shaboura neighborhood to trigger any potential traps. However, the building exploded shortly after two soldiers entered, leading to its partial collapse and resulting casualties.
The IDF also discovered a tunnel shaft inside the home, suggesting that it was likely used by a Hamas operative. In a separate incident in Rafah, the IDF engaged and eliminated a cell of gunmen in a close-range encounter and conducted several raids, seizing intelligence documents and equipment which were brought back to Israel for further analysis.

Israeli fighting in Rafah has prevented humanitarian aid from reaching Gaza.

Moreover, the IDF reported a successful drone strike against a Hamas sniper in the area, continuing its strategy of targeted operations. Over the last day, the Israeli Air Force has struck approximately 35 targets across Gaza, targeting terrorist infrastructure and operational cells.
The recent military actions follow a daring raid by the IDF that successfully rescued four hostages in the Nuseirat camp, leading to significant combat and the death of an estimated 274 people as reported by the Hamas-run health ministry, a figure that includes both combatants and civilians. The UN human rights office has expressed concerns that actions by both Israel and Hamas during these operations could potentially constitute war crimes due to the high civilian toll and the tactics employed.
In response to these ongoing challenges, the IDF’s 98th Division, after participating in the hostage rescue, has been withdrawn from Gaza but remains prepared for further actions needed to secure the release of additional hostages and to continue operations against Hamas targets.

The overall conflict in Gaza was reignited following a large-scale attack by Hamas on southern Israel on October 7, leading to significant casualties and the capture of Israeli civilians and soldiers. The IDF has vowed to continue its operations to dismantle Hamas’s military capabilities and to secure the release of all hostages.
U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinkin is in the region pushing for a ceasefire and a comprehensive plan to address the humanitarian situation in Gaza. These efforts include a proposed deal endorsed by the UN Security Council to halt the fighting, secure the release of hostages, and provide increased humanitarian aid to Gaza. Hamas just agreed to the cease-fire as they see the end is near. Will Israel allow the terrorists to service so they can continue to kill their people?
