The special will air on Wednesday, August 28, at 9 p.m. ET/PT and will be filmed at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville. A portion of the ticket sales will benefit The Toby Keith Foundation’s OK Kids Korral, which provides cost-free housing for families of children with critical illnesses, and Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, a leading children’s hospital in the Southeast.

Toby Keith passed away on February 5 after a three-year battle with stomach cancer. Throughout his illustrious career, the country music star achieved 42 top-10 hits, 33 number-one singles, sold 44 million albums, and amassed over 10 billion streams, largely due to his own songwriting and producing. Among his most well-known compositions are “How Do You Like Me Now?!,” “Should’ve Been a Cowboy,” and others., “Courtesy of the Red, White & Blue (The Angry American),” and “I Love This Bar.” Keith was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame shortly before his death.

Producers of the tribute show “Toby Keith: American Icon” are Alex Coletti Productions, Thinkfactory Media of ITV America, and Sing Me Back Home Productions of UMG Nashville. Executive producers for Sing Me Back Home Productions include Cindy Mabe, Dawn Gates, and Harper Grae, with Alice Webb and Barak Moffitt serving as executive producers for Mercury Studios. Adam Reed and Jordana Hochman are executive producers for Thinkfactory, and Alex Coletti is the executive producer for Alex Coletti Productions. TK Kimbrell and R.A. Clark also serve as executive producers. Mercury Studios will handle international sales and distribution of the show. The event is being promoted by Live Nation, and packaged by UTA, Keith’s long-time agency partner.
