Hugh Jackman has missed out on the Guinness World Record for the longest career as a live-action Marvel character to fellow Deadpool & Wolverine star Wesley Snipes. The record was previously held by Patrick Stewart, who played Professor X from 2000’s X-Men to 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Guinness World Records announced that Blade actor Wesley Snipes now holds the title over Jackman. Snipes first portrayed the vampire hunter in 1998’s Blade, giving him a career span of 25 years and 340 days in the role. This surpasses Jackman’s 23 years and 344 days as Wolverine and Stewart’s 21 years and 296 days as Professor X.
Snipes also earned the record for the longest gap between character appearances in Marvel films. He went nearly two decades, specifically 19 years and 231 days, between his roles in 2004’s Blade: Trinity and Deadpool & Wolverine.

In addition to Snipes and Jackman, Deadpool & Wolverine featured several cameo characters. Chris Evans reprised his role as Johnny Storm from the original Fantastic Four films, Channing Tatum returned as Gambit after being cut from X-Men: The Last Stand in 2006, and Dafne Keen appeared as a grown-up X-23, a character she first portrayed in Logan.
