    Controversial Relationship Revelations: Georgia DA and Special Prosecutor’s Personal Ties Unearthed in Trump Case

    In recent court filings on February 2nd, it was revealed that Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and the special prosecutor she appointed, Nathan Wade, share a personal relationship. Willis, a Democrat, enlisted Wade in 2021 to assist in the investigation against former President Donald Trump.

    Wade, in court documents, asserted that there was no personal connection between him and Willis at the time of his appointment, but their relationship developed in 2022. The revelation raised concerns as evidence emerged that they had traveled together on various occasions, including a trip to California in 2023 and multiple cruises, during the divorce proceedings of Wade’s wife.

    Wade admitted to purchasing plane tickets for both himself and Willis, while Willis clarified that their relationship was initially professional. She later acknowledged the personal aspect but emphasized that it had not resulted in any financial gain for her.     The controversy took a legal turn when Michael Roman, a co-defendant in the case involving Trump and others, moved to disqualify Willis and Wade, citing conflicts of interest. Roman argued that Willis had failed to disclose the relationship and its benefits, alleging that the personal connection had led to financial gains for both parties at the expense of taxpayers.

    Roman’s lawyers contended that the money allocated for the case, originally intended to clear a backlog from the COVID-19 pandemic, had, in reality, gone to Wade. Government records revealed that Wade received $653,880 from Willis’s office since early 2022. Moreover, open records requests indicated that Willis appointed Wade without obtaining necessary county approval.

    Roman further accused the pair of cohabitating at some point, alleging that they had been seen together privately in the Atlanta area. The motion argued that Wade’s appointment created a conflict of interest under Georgia’s Rules of Professional Conduct, calling for the disqualification of both lawyers and their respective offices.

    President Trump and another co-defendant, Robert Cheeley, echoed Roman’s sentiments, also seeking the disqualification of Willis and Wade. In response, Willis asserted in a brief that the defendants were attempting to fabricate a conflict of interest by combining irrelevant personal details with the circumstances of Wade’s appointment.

    Willis denied any financial conflict of interest and argued that Wade was working at a below-market rate on the case. Wade’s affidavit, submitted by the county, indicated a reduction in his hourly rate from $550 to $250. Willis emphasized that the motions to disqualify her fell short of meeting applicable standards, and no further factual development was necessary.

    The controversy escalated as a new motion emerged ahead of a scheduled hearing on February 15 to address the disqualification motions. Michael Roman subpoenaed both Willis and Wade to testify at the hearing, adding another layer to the unfolding legal drama surrounding the personal relationship between the district attorney and the special prosecutor in the high-profile case against Trump.

    Knowing how Democrats tend to always get away with their corruption, they are expected to get a slap on the wrist. If these people were Republicans, the DOJ would be calling for their arrest and prison sentences of 10 plus years each.
