I believe Larry Hogan has a better chance to win in Maryland than Dave McCormick does in Pennsylvania. Folks need to realize he is the only who has a chance to win Maryland. I would rather have someone who decides with us on matters like the Supreme Court rather than someone who doesn’t side with us on anything. I believe Hogan will be like Susan Collins who is a team player. Additionally, Hogan will would help Neil Parrott win in Maryland 6th Congressional District. This will make Democrats spend in Maryland rather than Toss up states. I think the GOP will cut funding for McCormick to spend it on Hogan. – Calvin Coolidge Project
Jack Posobiec said ‘Larry Hogan is a decidedly anti-Trump voice. But still better than a Democrat, and MD is a blue state generally. Let them fight’
Former Maryland Governor Larry Hogan has made a surprising entry into the U.S. Senate race, injecting unexpected energy into the GOP’s prospects for the upcoming November elections. Hogan, a Republican, officially declared his candidacy on February 9, marking the filing deadline for Senate hopefuls in the Old Line State. Here he is saying it himself:
‘I am running for the United States Senate – not to serve one party – but to stand up to both parties, fight for Maryland, and fix our nation’s broken politics. It’s what I did as Maryland’s governor, and it’s exactly how I’ll serve Maryland in the Senate. Let’s get back to work. see fast clip below

Larry Hogan has actively sabotaged conservative candidates including President Trump at every turn. Every Republican should actively oppose him and vote against him. No more RINO slugs who undermine the conservative agenda in Congress and promote the likes of McConnell. We do not need this clown to get a Senate majority- Mark R. Levin
In a video shared on social media, Hogan, who served as governor from 2015 to 2023, emphasized that his decision to run transcends party lines, aiming to contribute to the nation’s well-being rather than aligning solely with a political faction. He expressed frustration with the prevailing political dynamics in Washington, decrying the emphasis on partisan bickering over meaningful accomplishments for the people.
Hogan voiced the sentiment of many Marylanders, stating, “Like the exhausted majority of Marylanders, I’m completely fed up with politics as usual.” He criticized the inclination of Washington politicians to engage in endless arguments instead of delivering tangible results for their constituents. Emphatically, he declared, “Enough is enough. We can do so much better. But not if we keep electing the same kind of typical partisan politicians.”
‘They don’t care about you, the border or America. They should all be finished as politicians in America. This is the reason why Larry Hogan‘s Senate bid should be D.O.A. because he’s EXACTLY like them.’
The former governor emphasized that this electoral challenge goes beyond the conventional Republican-Democrat divide, framing it as a broader struggle between right and wrong. He underscored the importance of fighting for Maryland and America’s future, characterizing it as a battle worth undertaking,’ said Rob Carson
Hogan also took the opportunity to highlight his accomplishments during his gubernatorial tenure, citing the ability to navigate unprecedented challenges, implement eight consecutive years of tax cuts, achieve a balanced budget, and generate a record surplus. He attributed these achievements to a commitment to finding common ground for the common good, showcasing his capacity for bipartisan governance.
Notably, Hogan’s decision to run for the Senate seat was unexpected, especially since Sen. Ben Cardin (D-Md.) had announced his retirement after more than 17 years in Congress. Despite not showing interest in the 2022 Senate race against Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), Hogan’s change of heart underscores the unpredictable nature of political decisions.
Let me add my two cents: HELL NO TO LARRY HOGAN! This guy is a Trump's Hater like @chiproytx , @RepThomasMassie @Nikkihaley, #MitchMcConnell. Go join the Democrats Larry! https://t.co/Xhv7VpWl1n

Addressing the perceived challenges of the Senate role, Hogan acknowledged its differences from his previous gubernatorial position. He described the Senate as a place where a hundred individuals engage in constant arguments, expressing skepticism about the effectiveness of the legislative process. However, his popularity as a former governor and the favorable electoral landscape have boosted GOP prospects for reclaiming the Senate in November.
In a solidly blue state like Maryland, where Democratic candidates like Angela Alsobrooks and Rep. David Trone are vying for the nomination, Hogan faces an uphill battle. Nonetheless, his candidacy introduces an interesting dynamic, given his criticism of former President Donald Trump. Hogan openly admitted to not voting for Trump in 2016 or 2020, distancing himself from the Trumpian brand of politics. ‘This is insanity. I don’t like Larry Hogan, but he is the best chance the GOP will EVER have at getting a senate seat in Maryland. The fact that Mark Levin is opposing him because he doesn’t worship Trump shows the party cares only about pleasing Trump, not winning elections. This is the equivalent of wishing Susan Collins (a key yes vote for Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation) had lost to Sara Gideon (who would have been a certain no for Kavanaugh) in 2020 because Collins doesn’t worship Trump. We should focus on removing corporatist ‘RINOs’ from deep red states, not destroying moderate Republicans in blue states, ‘ said Peter Henlein.
Highlighting his commitment to a principled Republican party, Hogan emphasized the need for genuine debates within the party, criticizing the cult of personality that often overshadows ideological discussions. He asserted, “For too long, Republican voters have been denied a real debate about what our party stands for beyond loyalty to Mr. Trump.” Let’s just say it. A vote for this man is almost the same as voting for a Democrat. He is anti-Trump, against stopping voter fraud, and will stab Trump in the back every chance he gets, as these creatures of the Deep State always do.

It’s worth noting that Hogan ruled out a presidential run last year and instead endorsed former South Carolina Governor and U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Nikki Haley or all people. This should show you where the man’s loyalty lies: To the Deep State and not the United States. His past as a successful businessman and his triumph over cancer during his governorship add further dimensions to his political profile.
As Hogan steps into the U.S. Senate race, his candidacy promises to bring a unique perspective, challenging conventional party lines and advocating for a more principled and effective approach to governance. The unfolding months will reveal the extent of his impact on Maryland’s political landscape and the GOP’s quest to secure a Senate majority.
